Dr. Lisa Lagrou is an ophthalmologist with specialized training in all aspects of Pediatric Ophthalmology, and strabismus in adults and children. She has been practicing comprehensive ophthalmology, as well as pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, in Calgary since 2016.
Prior to medicine, she completed a bachelor of biomedical science at The University of Waterloo and then a masters of science degree at McMaster University in Neuroscience. Her medical school training was completed at the University of Ottawa, which was followed by ophthalmology residency at The University of Calgary. In order to provide further sub-specialty care in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, she underwent further sub-specialty training at The University of Michigan. She returned to Calgary to provide excellent patient care to children and adults with eye diseases. She is board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Lagrou is accepting new patient referrals for all pediatric ophthalmic conditions, as well as all adult eye conditions, including cataract, strabismus, glaucoma, and ocular screening examination for hydroxychloroquine toxicity and diabetic retinopathy.
Surgically, Dr. Lagrou performs a wide range procedures including cataract surgery, strabismus surgery, and tear duct probing and irrigation in children.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and playing with her energetic dog Jack!
